Education and Experience
I received my undergraduate degree in social work at Texas State University in 2013. Texas State is also where I completed my graduate degree in social work in 2014. I became licensed as a master social worker. I immediately started my clinical training and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2017. As a clinician, I have worked with criminal justice-involved adults and juveniles, substance use, working across the life span in a medical clinic, and in a residential placement setting. I started my PhD program at Our Lady of the Lake University in the summer of 2020 and completed my PhD in the spring of 2023.
My Story
I am a native Texan. I have lived in the central Texas area for my whole life (so far). I grew up in rural, small town Texas; I immediately moved to the "big city", Austin, the day after I graduated high school. I was in and out of college for a few years until I found my calling. I took an intro to social work class at ACC and never looked back. I live with my wife, our daughter, and our pup, Paisley, just outside of the Austin area. I believe in justice for all; I know systematic racism and racism are alive and well. I aim to treat all clients the way they wanted to be treated.
